Agli Oscar 2023, andati in scena al Dolby Theatre con la 95esima edizione della più grande festa internazionale del cinema, il film Everything Everywhere All At Once (EEAO) ha vinto a mani basse. Il film fantascientifico sul multiverso e sulle vicende sentimentali di una famiglia di immigrati cinesi negli Stati Uniti ha portato a casa ben sette statuette dall’Acadamy Awards su undici nomination. Il film ha incassato (dati al 6 febbraio scorso) 72 milioni di dollari negli Stati Uniti e 34,2 milioni di dollari nel resto del mondo, per un totale di 106,2 milioni di dollari.
Oscar 2023, il successo del multiverso
La pellicola diretta Daniel Kwan e Daniel Scheinert ha saputo mescolare generi diversi – fantascienza, dark comedy, arti marziali – proponendo una sorta di viaggio nel multiverso che ha letteralmente ribaltato i vecchi canoni di Hollywood, quasi a sancire (secondo molti esperti) l’inizio di una nuova era per la filmografia americana. La valanga di Oscar 2023 attribuiti a Everything Everywhere All At Once ha lasciato poco spazio ad alter produzioni comunque importanti e attese. Oltre ai quattro premi incasellati da Niente di Nuovo dal Fronte Occidentale (Miglio Film Straniero, Fotografia, Scenografia e Colonna Sonora), ai due “top title” che hanno comunque sbancato al botteghino, ossia Top Gun: Maverick e Avatar: La via dell’acqua la giuria ha attribuito soltanto due riconoscimenti “tecnici”, rispettivamente come Miglior Sonoro e come Migliori Effetti Visivi.
